Adobe has launched the first public version of its Firefly Video model, an advanced AI tool for video generation. This model competes with leading AI video tools like OpenAI’s Sora and Runway, aiming to offer professional-quality results. Meanwhile, Meta Platforms is also developing a similar AI video tool, but it has yet to be released.
Firefly Video is designed to integrate with Adobe Premiere Pro, allowing users to edit and expand production footage seamlessly. The tool currently generates five-second clips at 1080p resolution, shorter than OpenAI’s 20-second clips. However, Adobe claims that its AI can maintain visual quality for up to three seconds.
Firefly Video Pricing
Adobe offers two pricing plans:
- $9.99 per month for 20 clips
- $29.99 per month for 70 clips
In comparison, OpenAI provides 50 lower-resolution videos for $20 per month and a $200 plan for higher-quality content.
Adobe is also developing a premium plan for studios and high-volume users, with pricing expected by the end of the year. Additionally, the company is working on 4K video generation to improve motion quality and extend clip durations.
With this launch, Adobe is positioning Firefly Video as a powerful AI-driven tool for video creators and professionals.
