Hajj 2025; Saudi Arabia opens registration for domestic pilgrims

The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has announced the commencement of Hajj 2025 registration for domestic pilgrims, including both citizens and residents. Applicants are encouraged to submit their requests through the Nusuk app or the official e-portal.

The ministry stressed the importance of early registration, advising applicants to complete their health details, add accompanying pilgrims, and request exemptions from the Mahram requirement if necessary.

After completing these steps, applicants will receive notifications once Hajj package bookings become available.

Priority for Hajj registration will be given to those who have not performed the pilgrimage before, the ministry clarified.

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has also introduced an upgraded version of the Nusuk portal, incorporating over 100 new services.

Nusuk is the first official platform designed to assist travelers in planning, booking, and managing their Hajj or Umrah journey, including visa applications, hotel reservations, and flight bookings.

In 2024, the total number of Hajj and Umrah pilgrims surpassed 18.5 million, with over 13 million visiting the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah.

The Saudi Minister of Hajj reaffirmed the government’s commitment to enhancing services for pilgrims. He highlighted the role of digital advancements in modernizing and streamlining Hajj operations, making the pilgrimage experience more seamless and accessible.

A century ago, the number of Hajj pilgrims was around 50,000, whereas today, it has risen to 2 million annually, he noted.
