Twin cities’ administrations launch joint anti-polio campaign

ISLAMABAD: The district administrations of Islamabad and Rawalpindi launched a joint anti-polio campaign on Friday to protect children from the debilitating virus.

The campaign, which started on February 3, was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioners Irfan Nawaz Memon of Islamabad and Hassan Waqar Cheema of Rawalpindi.

At the inauguration, both officials personally administered polio drops to children, with representatives from the health department and other officials in attendance.

The drive is scheduled to run until February 9, aiming to vaccinate a total of 461,125 children in Islamabad. Mobile teams will visit schools and homes to ensure that all children receive the vaccine.

Both Deputy Commissioners urged citizens to support the campaign, highlighting that the eradication of polio is crucial for ensuring a healthier and brighter future for the children.
