Internet issues to be resolved in few days: PTCL

The Pakistan Telecommunication Company Ltd (PTCL) has announced that its internet services will be fully restored across the country within a few days. This update follows damage to the AAE-1 undersea cable, causing disruptions in internet connectivity.

In a statement, PTCL mentioned that while internet service is largely restored using additional bandwidth, users may still experience slowness on platforms like WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram during peak hours.

The quick restoration has been credited to joint efforts by PTCL and the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA). Earlier, the PTA had warned of possible downtime due to a fault in the AAE-1 cable near Qatar, which connects Pakistan to international internet traffic.

The government is also taking steps to address these issues. Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Minister of State for IT, revealed that authorities are working to add 200 gigabytes per second to enhance connectivity.

Despite challenges, PTCL’s proactive measures have stabilized internet services for many users, offering hope for a complete resolution soon.
