Samsung is currently in the public beta testing phase of One UI 7, its latest software skin based on Android 15. The stable version of One UI 7 is set to debut alongside the Galaxy S25 series, expected to be launched on January 22, 2025. Following this, older Samsung devices will receive the update, starting with the Galaxy S24 lineup.

A recent leak by renowned tipster Ice Universe has revealed improvements in fingerprint unlocking speed for Galaxy S24 models. A video shared on social media demonstrates the significantly faster unlocking speed and a clearer unlocking sound on the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

Samsung’s Galaxy S24 devices already feature ultrasonic fingerprint sensors, which are faster and more reliable than optical sensors.

These sensors work even when your hands are wet, making them stand out from competitors. However, past One UI versions have occasionally slowed down the unlocking process due to software hiccups.

With One UI 7, Samsung seems to have refined the unlocking animations, making the process smoother and quicker. While there’s still some room for improvement in animation speed, the experience is reportedly much better than One UI 6.

These changes are expected to be part of the next One UI 7 beta update, which could arrive in the coming days. Stay tuned for more updates as Samsung continues to refine its software experience.
