RAWALPINDI: Major Muhammad Awais, who martyred while bravely battling against Fitna-ul-Khawarij in North Waziristan, was laid to rest in his hometown of Shakargarh with full military honors.
The funeral was attended by Corps Commander Gujranwala, Lieutenant General Syed Imdad Hussain Shah, senior military officers, soldiers, family members, and a large crowd of local residents.
A statement issued by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) emphasized that the sacrifices made by martyrs strengthen the resolve of the nation. It further affirmed that the ultimate sacrifices given by the martyrs in defense of the homeland will never be forgotten.
“The great sacrifices of our martyrs further strengthen our resolve. The supreme sacrifices of the martyrs for the defence of mother-land will not go in vain,” it further said.
