Rainn Wilson shocked everyone by revealing that a mountain fire had burned down a large section of his house last November. He has now shared a new video, showing the current state of his house after the disaster.
Wilson took to Instagram on November 11 to share the sad news that his California home had “almost burned down.” In the video, he expressed gratitude that his house, shared with his wife Holiday Reinhorn, was not destroyed like many others during the fire.
The “Office” star gave a huge shout-out to his wife, who helped evacuate the pigs and other animals from their barn. Nearly a month later, the actor shared another clip on his Soul Bloom Instagram account, showcasing the condition of the parts of his house that the fire had burned down.
Wilson said in the video, “Well, this is not something I ever thought I’d be doing,” adding, “Walking through the remains of my bedroom and my closet and my bathroom, and there’s my toilet. My charred toilet.”
In the clip, he showcased the condition of his office and other sections of his house that the fire had destroyed. He mentioned that there was some sort of valuable lesson to be learned from the experience. The actor continued, “I’m not sure what it is — but death and fire teach you about the impermanence of life and the preciousness of what we have. So I hope you all stay grateful today for what you have.”
The performer once again expressed his gratitude that their house remained intact despite the disastrous fire. His caption read, “Amid the ashes is sometimes … where we best reflect on what truly holds value in our lives.”
