Maryam Nawaz embarks on 8-day official visit to China

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has departed for an eight-day official visit to China, marking a historic milestone as the first Pakistani woman Chief Minister to undertake such a visit.

Accompanied by a high-level delegation, she will visit Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Guangzhou from December 8 to 15.

The delegation includes key figures such as Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Uzma Bukhari, Bilal Akbar, and Agriculture Minister Ashiq Karmani.

The visit is taking place on the invitation of the Communist Party of China, and its primary objective is to strengthen bilateral ties between Pakistan and China.

During her trip, CM Maryam Nawaz is set to engage with Chinese ministers, senior officials, and experts in various meetings and conferences. The focus will be on enhancing cooperation in governance, agriculture, technology, and infrastructure development.

Maryam Nawaz left Lahore from Jati Umrah and proceeded to the Old Airport, where she embarked on her journey. This visit is expected to open new avenues for collaboration and further solidify the relationship between the two nations.

Earlier, Maryam Nawaz Sharif has instructed authorities to implement measures for providing interest-free loans to support commercial activities and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the province.

She stated, “We aim to create more employment opportunities by promoting trade and industry in Punjab.”

CM Maryam has ordered the introduction of two new initiatives: the ‘Business Card’ scheme and the ‘Chief Minister Easy Business Financing’ program.

The ‘Business Card’ scheme will offer medium-sized business loans of up to Rs 1 million, while larger loans of up to Rs 3 crore will be available under the “Chief Minister Easy Business Financing Scheme.”
