Google has introduced new sorting filters to its Gmail app for Android, aiming to improve how users search through emails. This update is part of Google’s ongoing effort to make Gmail more user-friendly and efficient, adding to the helpful features introduced recently.
One of the latest tools includes new sorting filters, allowing users to choose between “Most recent” or “Most relevant” emails. Previously, Gmail only showed “Top results” at the top of search results, followed by other emails in reverse chronological order. Now, with these new sorting options, users can quickly filter their searches to find the emails they need without scrolling through numerous results.
To access this feature, users will find a new filter button below Gmail’s existing search options like Labels, From, To, Attachment, Date, and others. Tapping on this button opens a menu where users can select “Most recent” or “Most relevant,” allowing for a more personalized search experience.
In addition to these filters, Google has recently added AI-powered tools like “Help Me Write” and “Polish” to Gmail, helping users craft and refine their emails.
The new sorting feature is currently available for some users on Gmail’s web version and will gradually expand to the mobile app as well. This improvement is part of Google’s larger effort to make email management easier and more efficient for users.
