Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, announced that 1,000 super seeders will be provided to farmers across Punjab, emphasizing that these machines will help reduce air pollution.

Speaking at a ceremony for the distribution of agricultural tools and super seeders in Lahore, the Chief Minister of Punjab stated, “The path to development passes through the fields of Punjab. Agriculture plays a vital role in our economy and in the food we consume.”

Maryam Nawaz highlighted the significance of agriculture in the country’s progress, expressing her close connection to farmers. She mentioned that 1.6 million applications have been received and the first draw for green tractors will take place soon.

The Chief Minister emphasized that without agriculture, national prosperity and development are not possible. She reiterated that around 1,000 farmers in Punjab will receive super seeders, addressing the major challenge of smog that has led to various health issues.

Maryam Nawaz remarked, “The super seeder is a significant step towards eliminating smog. It will help reduce air pollution.” She stressed that everyone must play a role in combating smog, which she described as a “Serpent that rises every year.”

In her speech at the ceremony, the Chief Minister of Punjab further stated that approximately 300 super seeders are being distributed to farmers. For the 7 billion rupee super seeder project, the Punjab government is providing a subsidy of 800,000 rupees. The super seeder performs four tasks simultaneously, including applying fertilizer and seeds, eliminating the need to burn crop residues.
