Kareena Kapoor is expanding her acting horizons, marking her streaming debut in Sujoy Ghosh’s Netflix crime thriller, Jaane Jaan, and featuring in Hansal Mehta’s English-language investigative film, The Buckingham Murders.
In a recent interview with NDTV, she expressed interest in exploring Korean dramas. “Who knows? I wish for sure that I’d love to explore a Korean drama. Because the world is watching their series, their films, so hugely popular. Everyone’s watching them,” she said.
Kareena emphasized the uniqueness of Indian cinema, stating, “Our films are true to our culture and heritage. They are authentic. We love our song and dance, drama, action and our films are enjoyed in our languages.” She also highlighted her admiration for the global success of the Telugu song “Naatu Naatu,” which won an Oscar last year.
While she admires Hollywood, Kareena has no plans to pursue a career there. She dreams of sharing the screen with her idol, Meryl Streep, and praised her co-star Diljit Dosanjh for elevating Punjabi music internationally. Kareena’s upcoming projects include Singham Again and a film directed by Meghna Gulzar.
