Pakistan Pacer Ihsanullah Names Mohammad Rizwan as His Favorite Cricketer

  • Ihsanullah, a Pakistan pacer, has revealed his all-time favorite cricketer.
  • He has played one ODI and four T20Is for Pakistan but has been sidelined due to an elbow injury.
  • Ihsanullah played under Rizwan’s captaincy with the Multan Sultans in PSL before his injury.

Pakistan pacer Ihsanullah has surprised fans with the announcement that his all-time favorite cricketer is wicket-keeper Mohammad Rizwan.

Ihsanullah, who has played one ODI and four T20Is for Pakistan, has been sidelined from international cricket since suffering an elbow injury during the ODI series against New Zealand at home in April last year.

During a recent local podcast appearance, Ihsanullah was asked about his favorite player from the Indian cricket team. He stated that he does not have a favorite player from India, surprising the host. When pressed for admiration for any current or former Indian players, including legends like Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman, Gautam Gambhir, and Yuvraj Singh, he maintained his position.

“No, I don’t have a favourite Indian player. My favourite player is Mohammad Rizwan, whether current or from the past. He is my favourite player in the world,” Ihsanullah stated.

It’s noteworthy that Ihsanullah played under Rizwan’s captaincy while with the Multan Sultans in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) before his injury. He made his debut for the franchise in the 2022 season and has taken 23 wickets in 14 appearances to date.
