ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has met with Chief Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) Maulana Fazlur Rehman, to discuss the country’s ongoing political situation.
During the meeting, both the leaders also exchanged views on the proposed 26th Constitutional Amendment, which has been a point of focus in recent political discourse.
Bilawal Bhutto was accompanied by senior PPP leaders including Syed Naveed Qamar, Murtaza Wahab and Jameel Soomro.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman was joined by Maulana Lutfur Rehman, Maulana Asad Mahmood and Kamran Murtaza.

Earlier, As political parties work towards reaching a consensus on upcoming constitutional amendments, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has nominated its chairman, Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, as the parliamentary leader of the party.
This development comes as members of the treasury benches are actively seeking the opposition’s support for the 26th constitutional amendment, which primarily addresses judicial reforms.
Speaking to the media outside the Parliament House in Islamabad on Friday, PPP leader Khursheed Shah, who chairs the Special Committee of Parliament on the constitutional draft, confirmed the nomination of Bilawal as parliamentary leader.
PPP leader Naveed Qamar has also submitted the necessary documents for the election of the party chairman to the National Assembly Office.
According to the constitution, the parliamentary leader is empowered to direct party members on voting matters concerning constitutional amendments, finance bills, and the election of the prime minister or speaker based on party policy.
