Samsung prepares to launch Galaxy S25 FE with MediaTek chipset

Samsung is likely preparing for the launch of its Galaxy S25 series as we enter the final quarter of the year. Although the Fan Edition (FE) models aren’t technically part of the flagship lineup, a recent report has revealed new information about the upcoming Galaxy S25 FE, including a potential name change and other key details.

According to a report from The Elec (via tipster Abhishek Yadav on X), the Galaxy S25 FE is expected to launch under the name “Galaxy S25 Slim.” The new model will reportedly be thinner than its predecessor, thanks to a redesigned battery with a larger surface area, allowing for a slimmer form factor while maintaining a 6.7-inch dynamic AMOLED display, similar to the Galaxy S24 FE.

The Galaxy S25 Slim is said to be powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400 chipset, a notable shift from Samsung’s typical use of Qualcomm or its in-house Exynos processors. This change may be part of Samsung’s strategy to compete with Apple’s rumored iPhone 17 Slim, as suggested by The Elec.

Although these details sound exciting, it’s worth noting that the Galaxy S25 FE, or Slim, is still in the development phase, and the official launch could be several months away, potentially in 2025.

Additionally, reports have surfaced about the main Galaxy S25 series, expected to launch early next year. Leaked renders and benchmark tests reveal some specifications of the upcoming phones. The standard Galaxy S25 will feature a 6.2-inch screen, the Plus model a 6.7-inch display, and the Ultra model a massive 6.9-inch screen, slightly larger than the current Galaxy S24 models.

As the launch date approaches, more details about both the Galaxy S25 Slim and the rest of the Galaxy S25 series are expected to emerge.
