KARACHI: During the protest rally called by Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM), here on Sunday against killing of  the head of Hezbollah Hassan Nasrallah in an Israel attack in Beirut, participants injured several journalists and Station House Officer (SHO) of the Mach police station and other constables. They also damaged two police vehicles, set a motorcycle ablaze and broke the windows of a private news channel’s DSNG van.

As per details, a protest by participants of the MWM rally attempting to march toward the US Consulate in Karachi turned violent, prompting police to take strong measures.

The demonstration followed the martyrdom of Hassan Nasrallah, sparking protests by various politico-religious parties across Pakistan, including Karachi.

Law enforcement responded with baton charges, tear gas, and aerial firing to disperse the MWM protesters as they tried to approach the US Consulate.

Sindh Interior Minister Zia-ul-Hasan Linjar and other officials have called for enhanced measures to protect civilians and journalists, urging the deployment of additional police forces to restore order.
