Fazl demands new elections as Parliament has not people's true mandate

PESHAWAR: Jamait Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has demanded new elections in the country as the present parliament does not have a true mandate of the people.

He said this while addressing a press conference, here on Sunday after being elected as Chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) unopposed for the next five years in the intraparty elections.

He said that it would not be good for the country to get any amendment passed by this fake parliament, vowing that they would not allow rigging in elections again as they were in the field and they had strong nerve to fight.

The JUI-F chief suggested the government to bring such amendments, which would give relief to the general public.

He maintained that matters were being pushed towards chaos in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, adding that injustice had been done with the people of FATA by merging them in KP, which was unacceptable.

Talking about the Middle East situation, he said Arab countries must seriously consider emerging affairs otherwise the situation might go out of control, adding that If the world remains silent and does not build a common defense system, it can engulf the whole world.

He observed, “If Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia and Egypt form a group, they could defend the Islamic world. He said that the martyrdom of Hasan Nasrallah is the second great sacrifice.
