In the ongoing Champions One-Day Cup, the Dolphins posted a formidable target of 327 runs after choosing to bat first against the Lions at Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad on September 22, 2024.
Despite being bowled out by the Lions, the Dolphins managed to accumulate 326 runs, with Umar Amin leading the charge, scoring 75 runs off 81 balls. Wicketkeeper-batter Muhammad Akhlaq contributed with a solid 52 runs from 50 deliveries, while opener Mohammad Huraira added 47 runs off 41 balls. Skipper Saud Shakeel chipped in with 23 runs from 23 balls, and tail-ender Qasim Akram provided a late boost with 31 runs off 26 balls.
The Dolphins’ innings were further energized by all-rounder Faheem Ashraf, who entertained fans with aggressive hitting towards the end.
On the bowling side, Lions’ Aamir Jamal was the standout performer, taking three wickets, while skipper Shaheen Afridi and Ahmed Daniyal each claimed two wickets. Khushdil Shah and Sharoon Siraj added one wicket each to their tally.
