RIA reports Russian strategic bombers seen over Barents and Norwegian Seas

On Wednesday, the state-run RIA news agency quoted the defense ministry, stating that Russian Tu-160 strategic bombers flew over the Barents and Norwegian seas as part of a major naval exercise.

It reported that the flights were part of Russia’s “Ocean-2024″ drills, which began the previous day.

The exercises, the largest since the Soviet era, will involve over 90,000 servicemen, more than 400 vessels, and 125 aircraft. They will run until September 16 across a vast area, including parts of the Pacific and Arctic Oceans as well as the Mediterranean, Baltic, and Caspian Seas.
