PESHAWAR: At least 88 people have died in various incidents due to monsoon rains in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from July 1 to August 31, 2024.
Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) released a report on losses. 88 people including 43 children and 19 women died in various incidents due to rains while 129 people were injured in accidents as a result of rains in different districts. PDMA report said most of the injured include 61 children and 29 women.
Similarly, 958 houses were affected by the rains across the province and 260 houses were completely destroyed while 698 houses were partially damaged.
According to the PDMA 7 school buildings have also been damaged by the rains and 147 cattle also died in different districts due to recent rains.

Earlier, Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) declared 10 districts of Balochistan province calamity hit following the heavy rains and directed all concerned district administrations to take measures.
According to the details, the Balochistan government declared 10 districts as calamities, the affected districts include Kalat, Ziarat, Sohbatpur, Lasbela, Awaran, Kachhi.
Apart from this, Jafarabad, Usta Muhammad, Loralai and Chagai are also included in the disaster affected districts.
PDMA directed all concerned district administrations to take action.
