On Thursday morning, Karachi experienced heavy rainfall, with Gulshan-e-Maymar recording the highest precipitation of 11.5mm over the past 24 hours, according to the Met Office.
Other areas, including Faisal Base, North Karachi, and Korangi, also saw substantial rainfall, measuring 11mm, 10mm, and 8.8mm, respectively.
The rain extended across various parts of Karachi, such as the Old Airport area, Jinnah Terminal, DHA, Keamari, Surjani, PAF Masroor Base, and Nazimabad, where rainfall ranged from 1mm to 6mm.
This downpour led to water accumulation in several locations, including M.T. Khan Road, Sultanabad, Hijrat Colony, and Lyari.
The Met Office had previously forecasted heavy monsoon rains from August 1 to 6, and the recent showers are attributed to this weather pattern.
Rainfall is anticipated to continue, with intermittent breaks, until August 6, providing some respite from the intense heat.
