Apple’s upcoming iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are expected to feature Wi-Fi 7 support, according to sources.
The integration of Wi-Fi 7 will allow these new devices to utilize the 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz frequency bands simultaneously. This enhancement is anticipated to provide significantly better performance, including faster data transfer speeds, reduced latency, and more reliable connectivity.
Wi-Fi 7 is projected to reach peak theoretical speeds of over 40 Gbps, a fourfold increase compared to the maximum speeds of Wi-Fi 6E.
Supply chain analyst Jeff Pu had also predicted that the iPhone 16 Pro models would include Wi-Fi 7 support. The new iPhones are expected to be released in September.
Currently, the iPhone 15 Pro models support Wi-Fi 6E, while the iPhone 11 through iPhone 14 models are compatible with standard Wi-Fi 6.
