Cement prices in Pakistan have spiked due to the government’s introduction of new taxes and an increase in federal excise duty on several items.
The surge in cement rates is expected to impact mining, transportation, and construction sectors. Recently, the price of cement bags has risen sharply by Rs150.
Following this latest price adjustment, a 50 kg cement bag now costs between Rs1,450 and Rs1,500. Over the past six months, the average price was around Rs1,300 to Rs1,330. Currently, Bestway Cement, Maple Leaf, Fauji, and Askari Cement are priced at Rs1,470 per bag.
