- Wahab Riaz & Abdul Razzaq out of Pakistan selection committee.
- Yousuf, Shafiq & Bilal Asif stay on committee.
- PCB wants to improve batting, bowling & fielding.
Following a lackluster performance in the T20 World Cup 2024, Wahab Riaz and Abdul Razzaq have been dismissed from the Pakistan men’s team selection committee. The decision was made public on a Wednesday.
Remaining on the committee are Mohammad Yousuf, Asad Shafiq, and Bilal Asif.
Sources indicate that the PCB’s trust in Wahab and Razzaq had been waning due to their considerable sway in choosing the T20 World Cup team, favoring underperforming players.
Their input had been disregarded for a while.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi conducted two pivotal meetings on Tuesday. He conferred with Pakistan’s white-ball coach Gary Kirsten and red-ball coach Jason Gillespie on significant issues.

In attendance were PCB COO Salman Naseer, Director High Performance Nadeem Khan, Director International Usman Wahla, Director – Domestic Cricket Operations Abdullah Khurram Niazi, Member Selection Committee – Bilal Afzal, among other PCB dignitaries.
