Surjani Town receives highest rainfall of 58.2mm as 390 KE feeders go tripped

KARACHI: Surjani Town received highest rainfall of 58.2mm in the city on Tuesday meanwhile more than 390 KE feeders went tripped after rain.

Whereas Orangi Town got 30mm rainfall, Gulstan-e-Jauhar, 19.8mm; Old Airport, 18.5; Shahrah-e-Faisal, 16mm; Saadi Town, 15mm; Gulshan-e-Hadeed, 12; North Karachi, 8.6; Gulshan-e-Maymar, 7.4; Keamari, 6.5; Korangi, 4; Malir, 3mm; Ibrahim Haideri, 2mm and Maripur, 2mm.

More than 390 feeders and PMTs were shut down as soon as the city received showers.

Feeders went tripped in several areas including North Nazimabad, Jacob Lions, Gadap, Site area, Bin Qasim, Society, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Maymar, Korangi, Orangi, Baldia Town, Surjani and DHA.

Due to safety measures in the low-lying areas, K Electric has turned off the electricity itself, the spokesperson said.
