- Samaa TV’s Mukalma show, hosted by Ayesha Jahanzeb, has sparked a debate on women’s status.
- The debate led to a demand for an apology from Adeem.
- Azba’s video emphasized the need for men’s support for progress in Pakistan.
Samaa TV recently launched the heated debate and discussion show Mukalma, hosted by Ayesha Jahanzeb, known for her controversial program Chocolate Times on A plus. A few days ago, Azba garnered headlines on social media after calling out Sahil Adeem for his statement about women on Mukalma. Adeem stated that the majority of women in Pakistan are illiterate (Jahil), sparking a debate among social media users. Some supported the discussion panel’s stance, while the majority of feminists and social activists backed Azba, who demanded an apology from Sahil Adeem for using the term “Jahil” for women.
Recently, Azba shared a video delivering a message to all supporters of her argument with the TV panel. She stated, “In Pakistan, 55% of our population comprises women, and motivational speaker Sahil Adeem used the word ‘Jahil’ for 95% of the Pakistani population. How can we tolerate such a statement? Initially, I demanded an apology from him, but now all Pakistani women are demanding the same. We cannot progress in Pakistan without the support of men.”
