The T20 World Cup 2024 is nearing its final stages, with only four teams left from the original twenty to compete in the semifinals on June 27 in the West Indies.

India secured a 24-run victory over Australia, joining England and South Africa as the third team to advance to the T20 World Cup semifinals on Monday.

In the last Super 8 game, Afghanistan triumphed over Bangladesh by 8 runs (DLS method) on Tuesday, earning their spot in the top four.

For the first time, the team led by Rashid Khan has made it to the World Cup semifinals.

Bangladesh, chasing a revised target of 114 runs in 19 overs due to rain, were all out for 105 in 17.5 overs.

Litton Das was not out with 54 runs from 49 balls, but lacked support from the other end, leading to Afghanistan’s momentous victory.

Rashid Khan and fast bowler Naveen-ul-Haq dominated the bowling, each taking four wickets.

Rain caused several interruptions during the second innings, keeping spectators in suspense.

Bangladesh needed to reach 115 in 12.4 overs to secure their place, Australia hoped for a Bangladesh win after 12.4 overs, and Afghanistan required only a win.
