- Rain predicted in New York during India vs Pakistan clash.
- Light showers expected from 9 am.
- Pakistan needs a win after losing to the USA.
As cricket enthusiasts eagerly await the much-awaited T20 World Cup 2024 match between India and Pakistan, the showdown between these fierce rivals may be impacted by weather conditions, with rain predicted in New York.
The game at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium is scheduled to start at 10:30am local time. However, BBC Weather has predicted light showers accompanied by a gentle breeze in the city from 9am, which could last for an hour or two.
The weather is expected to clear up between 11am to 12pm, but clouds might reappear with light rain later.
However, this will be the final spell of rain in New York as no further precipitation is forecasted for the rest of the day.
This wouldn’t be the first time that rain could disrupt a match between these arch-rivals, as their face-off during last year’s Asia Cup 2023 was also affected by it.
The match between these two nations is one of the most globally viewed events, and Babar Azam’s team will be aiming for a much-needed victory after their surprising defeat to the United States in their first match of the grand tournament.
On the other hand, if Rohit Sharma’s team wins against the Men in Green, they will be one step closer to the Super 8, having already beaten Ireland in their opening match.
However, the Men in Green received a significant boost ahead of this crucial match, with all-rounder Imad Wasim declared fit to play after missing the team’s opening match against the US due to a rib injury.
