India vs Pakistan tickets demand sours as matchday nears

  • India vs Pakistan tickets demand soured.
  • The match will be played on June 9.
  • Pakistan last win against in 2021.

The upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 match on Sunday at New York’s Nassau County International Cricket Stadium will feature a highly anticipated clash between India and Pakistan.

With the match set for June 9, ticket demand is soaring. The ICC’s website reports that standard and premium tickets priced from $300 to $400 are already sold out.

Yet, there are still tickets available in the Diamond Club, Cabanas, Corner Clubs, and Premium Club Lounge North, with Diamond Club seats being the priciest at $10,000. Other areas offer tickets ranging from $2,500 to $3,000.

To purchase tickets, fans can visit the ICC website, which includes a dedicated ticketing section.

The stadium, which can hold 34,000 spectators, is expected to be packed for the event.

Pakistan is under pressure to secure a victory following an unexpected defeat to the United States last Thursday.

On the other hand, a victory for India over Pakistan would nearly guarantee their spot in the Super 8, especially after their win against Ireland in the opener.

Captains Babar Azam and Rohit Sharma will lead Pakistan and India, respectively.

In their T20 World Cup history, India and Pakistan have faced off seven times, with India securing five victories, Pakistan one, and one match ending in a tie, which India won through a bowl-out.

Pakistan’s sole T20 World Cup win against India occurred in 2021 under Babar Azam’s leadership against Virat Kohli’s team.

As the teams prepare for their eighth T20 World Cup encounter, Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya is looking forward to the challenge.

Pandya expressed to Star Sports his excitement for big matches, especially against Pakistan, where he has historically performed well. He emphasized the importance of maintaining discipline and unity to make it a memorable day for the team.
