KARACHI: A young man lost his life after being shot by a security guard while filming a video for a social media platform in Karachi.

According to authorities, the security guard, identified as Ahmed Gul, aged 35, fired at Saad Ahmed, aged 24, as he was recording a TikTok video near Sereena Mobile Mall in the Buffer Zone area of Karachi. The police stated that the guard intercepted the young man before shooting him.

The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Central informed that the incident took place within the jurisdiction of Taimooria police station, and the security guard has been apprehended. During initial questioning, the guard alleged that Saad had made provocative gestures towards him while filming.

It was revealed by the police that the guard is an employee of a private security firm, and his firearm, labeled as ‘222’, was confiscated. The weapon used in the incident has been recovered, and investigations are ongoing.
