Ghee and cooking oil prices in Pakistan have recently dropped significantly, offering relief to consumers amidst economic difficulties.
Both Brand A and Brand B products have seen notable reductions in prices, with Brand A cooking oil now Rs 75 cheaper at Rs 525 per liter and Brand A ghee down by Rs 25 at Rs 525 per kilogram.
Similarly, Brand B items have become more affordable, with ghee and cooking oil now priced at Rs 380 per liter after a Rs 70 reduction.
This price decrease is particularly beneficial given Pakistan’s current economic challenges.
The State Bank of Pakistan’s half-yearly economic review projected an inflation rate of 23 to 25 percent for the fiscal year, significantly impacting households’ purchasing power.
However, the report also offers hope, forecasting a gradual decrease in inflation over the next six months.
If this trend continues, inflation could potentially drop to 5 to 7 percent by September 2025, promising more stable and accessible prices for essential goods and services.
