- Kamran Akmal accuses players of prioritizing personal goals.
- Ireland won the first T20I by five wickets.
- Andrew Balbirnie played a crucial role in Ireland’s win.
Kamran Akmal, a former wicketkeeper-batter for Pakistan, has leveled accusations against the national team players, claiming they are more focused on individual achievements.
These remarks were made in the wake of Ireland’s victory over Babar Azam’s team by five wickets in the first T20I at the Clontarf Cricket Club, Dublin.
“We will get better when we will try to play good cricket. The players must think about the team and we will continue to lose if things stay like this,” he expressed on his YouTube channel.
“I am looking that players are prioritising personal goals which is not good for the side. The team management will soon identify this,” he further added.
This marked Ireland’s first and only second defeat in any format since the 2007 ODI World Cup against Pakistan.
