KARACHI: Police claim to have apprehended the alleged mastermind behind a recent bank robbery in Kharadar, Karachi.
According to SSP Arif Aziz, the individual who had deposited money in the bank turned out to be the mastermind of the heist. Identified as Sameer, the accused reportedly collaborated with three others to execute the robbery under the guise of a mugging incident.
The SSP noted that suspicious activities captured on CCTV footage implicated the accused. The case was registered at Kharadar Police Station.
Further details provided by the SSP revealed that one of the accomplices arrived on a motorcycle and, at gunpoint, took away the money bag from Sameer before fleeing.
Two other accomplices, Mueez Tanoli and Aqib alias Ghari, were positioned as backup. Legal proceedings have been initiated against the suspects, while investigations into the involvement of others are ongoing.
