Islamabad, Pakistan weather update: scattered rains predicted

The Pakistan Meteorological Department predicts scattered rain, wind, and thunderstorms in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and various parts of Pakistan on Friday and Saturday. Continental air dominates most areas, with a shallow westerly wave expected to affect western Balochistan and upper Pakistan on Friday.

Thursday evening and night will likely see dry weather with strong winds in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and other parts. Sindh and south Balochistan may experience gusty winds or windstorms in the afternoon.

Friday and Saturday could bring rain, wind, and thunderstorms to the twin cities, Potohar region, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, north/northwestern Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir. South Punjab and upper Sindh might experience gusty winds or windstorms in the evening and night.

Temperatures in Islamabad are expected to range from 33-35 degrees Celsius on Friday and 36-38 C on Saturday, while Rawalpindi will see temperatures between 32-34 C on Friday and 33-35 C on Saturday.

Over the past 24 hours, dry weather prevailed across most of Pakistan. Lasbela recorded the highest temperature at 41 C, while Islamabad and Rawalpindi saw maximum temperatures of 30 C and 29 C, respectively. Morning relative humidity was around 61% in Islamabad and 44% in Rawalpindi.
