The Sindh Government in Karachi has introduced two new routes, R3 and R9, for the Pink Bus service to improve women’s access to and safety on public transportation.
New Routes
- R3: Power Chowrangi, North Karachi, to Nasir Jump Korangi
- R9: Al-Khidmat Hospital, Gulshan-e-Hadid, to Tower via Shahra-e-Faisal
Free Travel for Women
The government is providing two months of complimentary travel on routes R3 and R9 to encourage women to utilize the new services.
Fleet Expansion
The addition of ten new pink buses to the fleet underscores the government’s dedication to prioritizing women’s safety and convenience on public transportation.
Gender Inclusion
Faryal Talpur, a member of the Sindh Assembly from the People’s Party, issued licenses to four women drivers, highlighting a notable advancement in gender inclusion and employment prospects within the transportation industry.
