Following a federal jury’s verdict in November 2023, he was found guilty of multiple charges and recently received his sentence, which includes 87 months behind bars and a $2000 restitution payment.
Johnatakis gained notoriety as a participant in the Capitol riots, as evidenced by various videos showing him leading and coordinating the assault on law enforcement officers using a megaphone.
Originally from Washington state, Johnatakis traveled to Washington D.C. to participate in the Capitol riot on January 6, 2021, after attending the “Stop the Steal” rally. He posted videos on social media discussing storming the Capitol building and was observed leading the rioters with a megaphone, pushing back law enforcement lines and escalating the chaos.
Johnatakis is married to Marie, and they have five children. After his guilty verdict, Marie initiated a fundraising page expressing the difficulties she and their children would face without Taylor, who was the family’s sole breadwinner.
Born into a military family, Johnatakis spent a significant part of his childhood in Japan before his family settled in Idaho when his father transitioned to the computer industry. After graduating from Brigham Young University with a degree in Political Science, he started a business with a friend.
