The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicts rain, thunderstorms, and snowfall in Murree, Galyat, and various tourist spots from Sunday night to Tuesday (February 25-27). A westerly wave is expected to enter Balochistan on Sunday night and affect the upper parts of the country on Monday.

This weather system may bring rain, thunderstorms, and snowfall in several areas, including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Kohat, Astore, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Bagh, Kotli, Bhimber, and Mirpur from February 25 to February 27, with possible isolated hailstorms.

Potential impacts include disruptions in traffic and the chance of landslides in places like Murree, Galyat, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and Gilgit Baltistan during this period.

In Murree, the minimum temperature is expected to range between -02 to 00 degrees Celsius on Saturday and Sunday.

In the past 24 hours, freezing weather was observed in Murree, Galyat, and other tourist destinations. Malam Jabba received 03 mm of rain and 01 inch of snowfall. Kalam recorded the lowest temperature, dropping 13 degrees Celsius below freezing. Murree’s minimum temperature was recorded at -01 degrees Celsius, with a relative humidity of 76 percent in the evening.
