Here’s how to use two WhatsApp accounts on same phone?

WhatsApp’s dual account feature allows users to connect two different accounts to one device. To set up a second WhatsApp account, you’ll need an extra phone number or a device that supports multiple SIM cards. Once both accounts are registered, you can easily switch between them on the same device.

Both WhatsApp accounts, whether in use or not, function fully. Your active account is the one you’re currently using, but the inactive account stays accessible. This means you can still receive message and call notifications for the inactive account. Just switch between accounts to access the content of each one.

Here’s a simple guide to making a second account:

  1. Tap on “more options” > “Settings” > “Account” > “Add Account”.
  2. Read and agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
  3. Choose your country and enter your phone number with the international code.
  4. Confirm your registration code sent via SMS or phone call.
  5. Enter your name and finish the setup. You can also add a profile photo and ‘about’ details if you like.

How to switch between WhatsApp accounts

Open WhatsApp. Click on “more options” > “Switch accounts”. Note that this feature allows a maximum of two accounts.

Responding to notifications of the idle account

You’ll get notifications for messages and calls on inactive accounts, but you need to switch accounts to see the content.

If you receive a call on the inactive account, you have to switch accounts. When you get a call notification, decide whether to “Ignore” or “Switch Accounts.” If you choose to switch, you’ll be taken to a loading screen where you can decide to answer, reply, or decline the call.
