More rain, snowfall likely in tourist points in Pakistan

Rains and snowfall of changing intensities are predictable in Murree, Galyat and other tourist destinations of Pakistan on Wednesday evening/night and Thursday, says the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

According to the synoptic situation, a light westerly wave succeeds over Kashmir and adjoining areas.

Under these circumstances, more rain wind-thunderstorm with snowfall is expected in Murree, Galyat and other tourist sites in Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday evening/night and Thursday.

Rain/snowfall may affect transport in Murree, Galyat, Naran, Kaghan, Dir, Swat, Kalam, Astore, Hunza, Skardu, Neelum Valley, Bagh and Havellian.

Murree’s lowest temperatures will likely remain between -04 to -02 degrees Celsius on Thursday and Friday.

Meanwhile, rain-wind/thunderstorms with snowfall happened in Murree, Galyat and tourist points in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan during the last 24 hours.

Kalam remained the coldest place in the country where mercury dropped 13 C below freezing.

In Murree, minimum temperature was recorded at -02 C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 76 percent.
