The Center for Legal and Community Awareness (Masouliya) within the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department has launched a three-month initiative addressing domestic violence titled ‘Violence… the End of Family Stability’.

The campaign aims to increase awareness regarding the detrimental impacts of domestic violence, emphasizing prevention strategies, family rights and responsibilities, and legal consequences for perpetrators.

Through the utilization of social media platforms and various media outlets, Masouliya seeks to disseminate information on domestic violence.

Director Dr. Mohammad Rashid Al Dhanhani underlined the significance of family stability, highlighting its crucial role in societal advancement and the upbringing of children.

The initiative focuses on promoting the importance of family communication and fostering a culture of respect, particularly in the age of social media, to educate the community on nurturing healthy family relationships.

The domestic violence legislation in the UAE is comprehensive, encompassing actions, statements, or threats that jeopardize the physical, mental, or sexual well-being of individuals, with particular emphasis on safeguarding individuals within familial settings.
