Kasha Rigby, a skilled skier from Utah, sadly lost her life at the age of 54 on February 13, 2024, while skiing in Brezovica, Kosovo. She was caught in an avalanche, despite efforts from her partner, Magnus Wolfe Murray, to save her.
The search and rescue team faced challenging weather conditions as they recovered her body.
Kasha’s love for skiing began in her childhood, and she pursued her passion throughout her life. Instead of attending college, she chose to explore the world, eventually becoming a renowned figure in telemark racing and extreme skiing in Crested Butte, Colorado.
Joining The North Face Ski Team in 1995, Kasha embarked on thrilling adventures across the globe, leaving her mark on numerous slopes and even skiing first descents on Mongolia’s Five Holy Peaks. Her untimely death is mourned by the skiing community, remembering her talent and adventurous spirit.
