A fact-finding committee has found a member of the faculty of Government College Lahore (GCU), guilty for sexual harassment of female students.
A member of the Old Ravian group on Facebook had posted screenshots and pictures of a teacher from the GCU Physics Department alleging that she and her friends were repeatedly failed and harassed by the individual in question.
In the post, the teacher was accused of compelling students to attend his video calls as one of the students decided to expose him and took screenshots of the meeting. The screenshots show the man shirtless and apparently intoxicated. When the student cut their internet off the teacher started calling her on her phone and repeatedly messaged her to pick up.

The post that has pictures, screenshots, messages, call logs, and much more caught the attention of the administration as Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Asghar Zaidi suspended the teacher after the complaint was lodged.
The committee submitted the report that alleges that the teacher was accused of sending immoral messages to female students as well as making video calls and being inappropriate.
“The report will be forwarded to the anti-harassment committee to recommend imposition of penalty on the teacher. Action under the PEEDA Act will also be taken against the teacher as he is found guilty of harassment,” said Prof Zaidi.
It should be mentioned here that GCU had previously terminated a teacher from service two years ago on similar charges.
