On the occasion of the general elections, 16,766 polling stations have been declared as highly sensitive and 29,985 as sensitive.
According to officials, the presiding officers have been given the powers of magistrate first class to control the law and order situation at the polling stations, while the Pakistan Army will be deployed outside the most sensitive polling stations.
However, an Election Management System (EMS) will be used to transmit and edit the results of the general elections.
On the other hand, officials say that no decision has been taken yet to shut down the internet anywhere on Election Day.
It should be noted that delivery of electoral materials to presiding officers and polling staff for general elections has been started across the country on February 8.
According to Election Commission, 90, 675 polling stations and 2, 66, 398 polling booths have been established across the country to exercise the right of the people to vote, while, 490, 000 election staff will perform the duties of polling.
