A delegation of Afghan Taliban led by Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, head of the Afghan Taliban’s political office has arrived in Islamabad last night.
According to reports, the initial contacts of the Afghan Taliban delegation regarding the Afghan peace process have started after their arrival in Pakistan and the Afghan Taliban delegation will visit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Office (MOFA) tomorrow morning.

The delegation is also expected to hold talks with Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, including the Prime Minister’s Special Representative for Afghanistan, Ambassador Muhammad Sadiq Khan, and the Foreign Office’s DG Afghanistan.
It is pertinent to mention here that the invitation for the Afghan Taliban delegation to visit Pakistan was extended by the Pakistani Foreign Office to Pakistani officials.

The meetings will focus on issues related to the peace process in Afghanistan and inter-Afghan dialogue
