Canada has introduced three types of English language tests for skilled immigrants applying through the Express Entry program. For those looking to work in Canada, it’s crucial to demonstrate their English language proficiency by taking an approved language test. The test needs to be scheduled through an agency approved by Canada’s IRCC. Here are the three accepted tests for Express Entry Immigration:
CELPIP: Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program
You need to take the CELPIP-General test.
IELTS: International English Language Testing System
You need to take the IELTS General Training option.
PTE Core: Pearson Test of English
You need to take the PTE Core option.
Once you submit your test results, Canadian authorities verify them with the testing organizations to confirm your language skills. According to the rules, the test results must be valid (less than 2 years old) when you complete your Express Entry profile.
