Beginning next Monday, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has declared that the SMS service 8300 will be provided at no cost.

The decision to offer the SMS service 8300 for free was announced by the ECP’s spokesperson, Syed Nadeem Hyder, along with Additional Director General Nighat Sadique and the Project Director of the Project Management Unit.

As per the ECP’s representatives, voters can inquire about their constituency and polling station details by sending their computerized identity card number to 8300.

ECP authorities emphasized the importance of bringing computerized national identity cards (CNICs) to the polling station for the voting procedure. Furthermore, they clarified that individuals with expired CNICs and those holding a token for a new CNIC issuance are also eligible to cast their votes.

According to Nighat Sadique, the Additional Director General of the ECP, a considerable number of international observers have been invited to oversee the electoral process.

Syed Nadeem Hyder, the ECP’s spokesperson, highlighted that the Election Act mandates a specific timeframe for the announcement of election results. According to the Act, presiding officers must transmit the election results to the Election Commission by 2 a.m.
