The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicts on-and-off rainfall in various parts of Pakistan this month, with the wet weather expected to alleviate dense fog conditions.
Gilgit-Baltistan/Kashmir:
From January 27 to January 31, there’s an expectation of light to moderate rain and snowfall in places like Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa:
Chitral, Dir, Swat, Abbottabad, and other areas may experience light to moderate rain and snowfall from January 27 to January 31, with occasional breaks.
Punjab/Islamabad:
Islamabad and the Pothohar region anticipate light to moderate rain between January 27 and January 31. Murree and Galliyat may see snowfall with breaks, while other cities like Lahore may experience rain on January 30-31. Nights in the province will be cold and dry with foggy conditions.
Balochistan:
Quetta, Zhob, Ziarat, and other regions may experience light to moderate rain and snowfall on January 28-29, with occasional breaks.
Sindh:
Most parts of Sindh expect cold and dry weather, with some fog in upper Sindh.
Possible impacts and advice:
Snowfall could disrupt traffic in various areas, and tourists are advised to be cautious. The rain may benefit crops in certain regions of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
