A westward-moving weather system has brought colder conditions to northern Pakistan. Light rain and snowfall are expected in the northwest. The Pakistan Meteorological Department mentioned that daytime temperatures will be low in KP plains and extremely cold in hilly areas. Citizens are urged to take extra precautions.
Peshawar Rain Update:
While other regions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are expected to experience rain, Peshawar and the surrounding plain areas will remain dry and cold.
Peshawar Temperature Today:
Peshawar recorded a temperature of 13°C, and it’s expected to drop to single digits in the evening. The humidity in the city is around 60%, with winds blowing at 7 km/h.
Peshawar Air Quality:
The air quality in Peshawar is recorded at a hazardous level of 335. Experts warn that the pollution poses a danger to the public. The current concentration of PM2.5 in Peshawar is 57.1 times higher than the WHO’s annual air quality guideline value.
Pakistan’s Weather Outlook:
Most areas in the country can expect very cold and partly cloudy weather. Some isolated places in Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa may experience light rain (and light snowfall in the mountains) during the night. Dense fog/smog is likely to persist in Islamabad, plain areas of Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, and upper Sindh. Very cold weather is expected in these areas due to dense fog.
