Former Indian tennis player Sania Mirza received praise for her classy demeanor following her split with Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik.
Malik shocked his fans and admirers on Saturday by announcing his marriage to actor Sana Javed.
The divorce was handled gracefully by Mirza’s family on Sunday, and they kindly asked that people respect their privacy during this delicate time.
“Sania has always kept her personal life away from the public eyes. However, today the need has arisen for her to share that Shoaib and she have been divorced for a few months now. She wishes Shoaib well for his new journey ahead,” Mirza’s family said in a statement.
