Motorola has revealed its latest budget-friendly smartphone, the Moto G Play (2024), set to hit the US market next month.
Design and display
The phone boasts a 6.5-inch 720p IPS LCD touchscreen, featuring a resolution of 720 x 1,600 and a smooth 90 Hz refresh rate. Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3 protects the display, and the device comes with IP52 water resistance, making it resistant to light rain and dust.
Internals and software
Powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 680 chipset (lacking 5G support), the Moto G Play (2024) incorporates 4 GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. The device runs on Android 13 right out of the box.
Cameras
Contrary to the trend of multiple rear cameras, the Moto G Play (2024) features a single 50MP rear camera with LED flash, supporting video recording up to 1080p at 30 FPS. The front camera is an 8MP selfie shooter housed in a punch-hole cutout.
Battery and Pricing
Equipped with a 5,000 mAh battery, the phone supports 15W wired charging, but a compatible charger is not included. Currently available in Sapphire Blue, the Moto G Play (2024) starts at an affordable $150.
Motorola’s new release focuses on delivering essential features with a budget-friendly price tag, providing users with a reliable and cost-effective smartphone option.
