Jackson was the third of ten children born to a Jehovah’s Witness mother and a steel mill worker father in Gary, Indiana, in 1953. After breaking a string when he was ten, Tito was persuaded to join the Jackson 5 vocal group. In 1964, Katherine discovered Marlon and Michael’s singing prowess, and they joined the group. Before being signed by Motown, the brothers practiced at home for years.

Michael Jackson took the lead vocal role as the Jackson family started giving performances at grocery stores and schools. In 1965, they renamed themselves the Jackson Five and won multiple talent competitions. They signed a record deal with Motown Records in 1969 and released multiple hit songs. Jackson and his brothers started writing songs together, but in 1997 he was admitted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. On Michael Jackson’s 30th anniversary concert special in 2001, he got back together with his brothers. He started his solo career in 2003, and in 2009 he served as The Jacksons: A Family Dynasty’s executive producer.
Personal Life
In 1972, Jackson married Delores “Dee Dee” Martes; the two later got divorced in 1988. They had nine grandchildren and three sons who formed 3T. In 2009, Tito and his brothers carried his casket during his memorial service. In an interview from 2021, Jackson remembered his brother on the occasion of their 12-year anniversary and stood up for him against accusations.
Cause of Death
At the age of 70, Jackson passed away in Gallup, New Mexico, on September 15, 2024, following a heart attack. While traveling to move his antique vehicles from California to his new home in Claremore, Oklahoma, Jackson and his business partner Terry Harvey started to perspire and complained of chest symptoms. Jackson was found to be in need of medical assistance close to a mall, according to Gallup police. He was rushed by ambulance to a nearby hospital, where he was later declared dead.
